It’s an appeal to our humanity that Médecins du Monde has made, right in the heart of Paris. The message “Open the doors” took on the form of an audience-responsive installation open to everyone.
21 closed doors were exhibited on the Place de la République. In opening them, passersby discovered the portraits and testimonials of 21 migrants. Thanks to the accuracy and neutrality of photographer Samuel Legassy, these exiles of all kinds, ages, conditions and cultures revealed themselves and, in doing so, broke down our barriers and prejudices. The threshold was crossed.
